Job Summary
Performs EEG recordings according to established standards and practices as ordered by Physician. Maintains test recordings and equipment. Interviews patient to assess current physical condition; translates procedures to layman's terms to reduce pre-test anxiety; sets up equipment; applies electrodes on predetermined locations for optimum testing; operates EEG equipment to obtain tracings; identifies artifacts and adjusts recording protocols; utilizes activating procedures such as hyperventilation, photic stimulation and sleep; monitors related physiological signals; ensures patient safety; may assist with intraoperative monitoring (ECOG, Wada mapping) and transport of equipment; performs routine maintenance on EEG equipment; related duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required
- Current EEG Technician certification, required
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification, required
- Prior relevant experience, required
