Job Summary

Detect EEG abnormalities, write detailed interpretations, and notify oversight neurologists of findings. Monitor, detect, and interpret EEG patterns across adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations while deciphering artifacts from cortical activity. Operate EEG equipment, troubleshoot as necessary, and reformat data for review using ACNS Standard Protocols. Write thorough EEG reports and interact professionally with hospital staff, neurologists, and other technologists. Requires ABRET board certification in Electroencephalography and Certification in Long-Term Monitoring, with a minimum of two years of EEG experience including one year in ICU or EMU. Full-time role in Stony Brook, NY, with variable hours.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • ABRET board certified in Electroencephalography (R. EEGT) and Certification in Long-Term Monitoring
  • (CLTM) is required within 2 years of hire
  • R. EEG T and a minimum of 2 years of EEG experience, including 1 years of long-term monitoring in the ICU and/or EMU

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in advanced epilepsy monitoring in the EMU, such as intracranial/stereotactic EEG
  • Knowledge of Xltek EEG equipment
