Job Summary
Conduct and prepare patients for routine Electroneurodiagnostic (END) procedures, including EEG, Evoked Potentials, and specialized studies in the clinical setting. Collect data pertinent to the interpretation of test results and assist medical staff with complex recordings. Gather patient history from records and family members, recognize and document artifacts, and ensure patient safety during emergencies. Interact with patients, families, and clinical staff to explain procedures while adhering to infection control and privacy standards. Requires 3+ years of clinical experience, BLS certification, and proficiency with Windows-style applications. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and extended shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree or completion of an END Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
- Completion of a Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) Program accredited by American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET)
- Clinical experience equivalent to 3 or more years training in the field
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications
- Proficiency with various software packages specific to role
- Proficiency with keyboard
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to set priorities
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Ability to work flexible schedule, such as nights, weekends, extended shifts, etc.
- Ability to lift 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to lift 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to lift greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly
- Residence in and willingness to work in areas other than Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, Washington D.C., Shreveport, La., or Monroe, La.
