Job Summary
EEG Technician responsible for performing high-quality EEG studies, including routine and extended video EEG monitoring, with patient preparation, electrode application, data collection, artifact management, and reporting findings to a Neurologist. Works with pediatric patients in a fast-paced clinical environment; requires knowledge of the 10/20 system, electrode impedance targets, ABRET- or equivalent-certified practices preferred, and ability to collaborate with neurologists, nurses, and administrative staff while upholding HIPAA and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of educational program for EEG technicians preferred
- Certification by ABRET or equivalent preferred
- Familiarity with long term monitoring and routine video EEGs (over 1 hour) and ambulatory EEGs (24-48 hours) preferred
- Experience with pediatric patients preferred
- Ability to work weekdays, nights or weekend days as needed
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency with scheduling software and EMR systems
- Attention to detail and patient-centered care
