Job Summary
Lead Electrical Engineer for Archer's Integrated Labs Infrastructure, owning the technical vision and execution strategy for integrated test capabilities supporting the eVTOL certification program. Lead, mentor, and develop the electrical engineering team; act as the primary electrical engineering interface to cross-functional stakeholders; establish and continuously improve electrical design standards, instrumentation frameworks, and lab safety protocols; own electrical lab architecture including capacity planning and partnerships; collaborate with lab leadership to improve throughput and quality through tooling, automation, and AI-assisted workflows. Requires 6–12 years in aerospace electrical engineering, a BS in Electrical Engineering, deep knowledge of complex subsystems, high-voltage/high-power systems, and experience with wiring diagrams, CanBUS, ARINC, RS-232/485, and lab/test infrastructure. Bonus qualifications include FAA aircraft certification experience, eVTOL context familiarity, and a track record of innovations in electrical test methodology. Archer notes a base pay range of $170,000–$215,000 and does not sponsor work visas for this position.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering
- 6–12 years in aerospace electrical engineering
- Deep understanding of high-voltage/high-power systems or electric propulsion testing
- Proficiency in creating wiring diagrams and schematic design tools (e.g., Siemens Capital)
- Experience with serial communication bus protocols (CANBUS, ARINC, RS-232/485)
- Exposure to agile/configuration management/test data traceability tools (JIRA, Polarion)
- Demonstrated experience coordinating or leading small technical teams
- Strong organizational skills and business acumen; ability to balance technical work with schedule and cost
