Job Summary
Educator/Tester offers and performs point-of-care HIV/HCV testing for eligible patients, delivers test results, educates patients on infections and diseases, and supports linkage-to-care. Roles include documenting testing data in EMR, restocking and maintaining the workspace, and educating patients on harm reduction and community resources. Requires ISDH HIV Prevention Counselor Certification within three months of employment and annual HIV clinical education compliance. Priorities include strong communication with ED and clinical teams, ability to educate diverse patient populations, and adherence to testing protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3-5 years applicable work experience
- Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) HIV Prevention Counselor Certification Course within three months of employment
- Completes HIV Clinical Education and maintains annual compliance
- Completes appropriate training for POC Screening
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Passionate about sexual health and infectious diseases; harm reduction lens; strong organizational and communication skills; ability to work independently and in collaboration across disciplines
