Job Summary
Support the lead teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate lessons, activities, and routines for PreK students. Work with individual learners and small groups to reinforce academic, social, emotional, and developmental skills while fostering independence and positive peer relationships. Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, transitions, meals, and daily care routines, assisting with arrival, dismissal, and hygiene needs. Maintain an organized, safe classroom environment by preparing instructional materials and reinforcing positive behavior expectations. Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and administrators to integrate Catholic faith and values into daily life. Complete assigned duties related to the PreK program and school operations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Meet applicable Archdiocese of Seattle and Washington State requirements for employment in an early learning setting
- Complete applicable Archdiocese of Seattle and Washington State requirements
- Background check
- Required early learning/childcare training
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Bloodborne Pathogens training
- Food Handler Permit, as applicable
Desired Qualifications
- Have experience working with young children
- experience in a preschool, PreK, childcare, or elementary school setting
- Demonstrate patience, warmth, enthusiasm, and a genuine appreciation for young children
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be dependable, flexible, collaborative, and willing to be an active member of a school team
- Support the mission and values of Catholic education
- be willing to participate in the faith life of the school
