Job Summary

The Educator for the Holocaust Survivors Memoirs Program will collaborate with the education team to create educational materials and lesson plans, assess lesson plans for classroom implementation, and provide teacher training aligned with curricular requirements. Responsibilities also include planning professional development events, providing individualized instruction, and cultivating interest in Holocaust education among teachers. The ideal candidate will have a degree in teaching, experience as a middle school teacher, excellent communication and presentation skills, and an interest in Holocaust education.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in teaching or in a specialized subject with a certificate in education
  • Proven experience as a middle school classroom teacher
  • Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and well organized
  • Creative and energetic
  • Demonstrated interest in learning about the Holocaust

Desired Qualifications

  • Bilingual (French/English)
  • Experience creating lesson plans in literary arts and/or social studies/history courses
  • Experience presenting lessons in a comprehensive manner using visual/audio means to facilitate learning (in person and virtually)
