Job Summary
Educational Technician III in Bangor (K-8) supports students in a therapeutic day program. Requires a Bachelor's degree (or 90 credit hours) and Ed Tech III authorization. Responsibilities include implementing IEPs and behavior plans, applying behavior-management strategies, supervising and managing student behavior, collaborating with staff, and using ABA discrete trial instruction. Strong communication with students and staff, ability to work in a team, and willingness to engage with Safety Care Strategies; toileting assistance may be needed. Prior experience with emotional disabilities in elementary/high school settings is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, or 90 credit hours
- Ed Tech III authorization required
- Experience working in a program for children with emotional disabilities preferred
- Knowledge of behavior-management strategies necessary
- Must be able to communicate effectively with students and staff
- Previous experience working in elementary/high schools preferred
- Must have excellent skills at supervision and behavior management
- Ability to implement Individual Education Plans and behavior plans
- Ability to work and learn as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and use Safety Care Strategies necessary
- Willingness to assist with toileting may be necessary
- Ability to use ABA discrete trial instruction
