Job Summary
Review and reinforce learning, introduce new learning in collaboration with teachers, and conduct one-on-one or small group instruction under supervision. Assist students with personal care, including meals and oral hygiene, while maintaining classroom management and ethical confidentiality. Perform clerical tasks, prepare instructional materials, and supervise special projects or community-based programs. Report problems to teachers and assist with parent communications. Maintain classroom inventory and student records.
Required Qualifications
- Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check eligibility
- Maine Department of Education Educational Technician I, II or III Certificate eligibility
- High school diploma or GED
- At least two years of postsecondary education or a combination equivalent to 60 hours of approved study in an educationally related field; or for vocational education 2 years of paid applied employment within the field of assignment
- 3 years of postsecondary education or a combination equivalent to 90 hours of approved study in an educationally related field; or for vocational education 3 years of paid applied employment within the field of assignment
