Job Summary
Provides instructional support by assisting teachers in reading and math interventions, supervises students, prepares materials, delivers Early Reading and/or Math Intervention curriculum to targeted small groups, reads to students in one-on-one or small group settings, assesses and reports student progress, enters data into the computer, maintains a safe environment, supports office functions as needed, and follows district policies and crisis procedures. May assist with Parent Involvement activities, multi-line telephone system, and other duties as assigned. Requires familiarity with district policies, First Aid, paraprofessional certification, and ability to work with diverse students; strong English language proficiency and, optionally, Spanish; ability to use basic computer software and data entry. Education/Experience requirements include an Associate’s degree or equivalent and NCLB paraprofessional certification; physical and safety responsibilities and adaptability to school environment are noted.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or one to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Certificates determined by the District to be relevant to the job, including current NCLB requirements (paraprofessional certification) and First Aid Certification
