Job Summary
Educational Specialist for the Upward Bound Classic Program provides academic advising, mentoring, and educational support to program participants; monitors student progress, assists with goal setting, study skills, time management, and college preparation; coordinates workshops on college readiness, financial literacy, career exploration, and academic success; assists with college admissions applications, FAFSA, scholarships, and financial aid; supports summer enrichment and academic programming; facilitates tutoring and enrichment in core subjects; assists with SAT/ACT prep; maintains student records and compliance with federal TRIO regulations; collaborates with local schools and community organizations for recruitment, outreach, and retention; represents the program at meetings and events. Education required: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Higher Education, Social Work, or related field. Experience: 2–3 years with youth/college access or TRIO programs. Other: ability to lift 10 pounds, background check and references required; application materials include resume, four professional references, and a cover letter; EOE.
