Job Summary
Educational Paraprofessional (DPIA) provides targeted small-group high dosage tutoring in math and reading for K-12 students, supports certified staff and teachers in delivering the educational program, assists with classroom discipline and behavior management, maintains records and tutoring reports, and uses de-escalation protocols as needed. Responsibilities include delivering targeted interventions, assisting with progress monitoring and data-tracking, and supporting access to instructional materials while collaborating with staff, teachers, and administrators. Requires Ohio Educational Aide Permit and ESEA credential requirements; duties emphasize literacy and math instruction, student supervision, and data-driven instructional support.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Possession of a valid State of Ohio Educational Aide Permit
- A valid ESEA credential (requires Associate Degree, 48+ semester hours, or a passing score of 456+ on the ParaPro Assessment within 60 days of hire or transfer)
- Experience working with students and teachers on academic content standards
- Experience working with students and teachers on grade level proficiency tests
- Successful completion of BCI & FBI criminal background checks
