Job Summary
Conduct educational evaluations by reviewing patient history, academic aptitudes, and physical skills to determine current educational potential. Formulate written assessment findings, reports, and discharge recommendations that delineate learning strengths, weaknesses, and interdisciplinary management strategies. Consult with interdisciplinary team members, parents, and Local Educational Agencies to facilitate appropriate educational placement, IEP/504 Plan development, and resource acquisition. Provide in-service instruction to schools and community agencies while participating in research, team meetings, and outpatient clinic activities.
Required Qualifications
- Maryland Teaching Certification in Special Education
- Master's Degree in Special Education
- Minimum of two years in teaching
- one year of experience in a clinical setting with developmentally disabled children
