Job Summary
Implement the special education appraisal process, assess educational progress and program needs of students referred for special education services, provide diagnostic information, and collaborate with instructional personnel to develop appropriate programs. Major responsibilities include selecting and administering formal and informal assessments, producing Full Individual Evaluation Reports, participating in ARD committees, developing IEPs, providing staff development, counseling, and coordinating with parents and school staff. Travel district-wide as required and supervise assessment/counseling personnel as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree from an approved institution
- Certification as educational diagnostician
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- Knowledge of diagnostic procedures and education of students with disabilities
