Job Summary
Receive student referrals and review for Response to Intervention (RTI) fidelity, then select and administer formal and informal evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services. Conduct classroom observations, participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committees to interpret data, and make recommendations for appropriate placement and Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Provide staff development training, assist teachers with IEP implementation, consult with parents regarding educational needs, and develop continuing evaluation programs. Compile, maintain, and file all required reports and records while observing retention regulations and complying with federal, state, and local policies.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- Valid Texas Educational Diagnostician Certificate
- Knowledge of diagnostic procedures
- Education of special education students
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects
- Ability to make sound decisions within the parameters of authority
- Proficiency with technology applications (i.e., Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Frontline)
