Job Summary
Educational Diagnostician will monitor reports and records for students with disabilities transferring into the district, coordinate initial evaluations, placements, and three-year re-evaluations; schedule and facilitate IEP meetings; assist with writing measurable IEP goals and progress monitoring; serve as a building-level liaison to principals, teachers, and parents; coordinate services with state and community agencies; maintain confidential student data and audit files; ensure compliance with Special Education Regulations and district policies; perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal and Director of Special Education Services; requires strong collaboration, data analysis, and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Special Education (required)
- State of Delaware teacher certification in the identified content area (or eligible)
- Five years' experience as a Special Education Teacher (required)
- Thorough knowledge of IDEA and IEPs
- Demonstrated knowledge of subject content, curriculum, methodology of effective teaching
- Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs
- Skilled in the use of multimedia and computer technology to enhance learning
- Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with students, peers, administrators, and parents
- Demonstrated skill in oral and written communications; excellent human relations skills
