Job Summary
Educational Consultant provides expertise in special education, inclusive practices, low-incidence disabilities, autism, and behavior to respond to PDE, BSE, and Eastern Region IUs' and their districts' requests for coaching, technical assistance, and professional development. Responsibilities include responding to PDE and BSE requests for technical assistance; delivering classroom, building, and district-level coaching and technical assistance; creating and delivering professional development for educators, administrators, and IU personnel; planning and participating in regional and statewide conferences, workshops, and planning sessions; assisting in the preparation of publication materials (directories, brochures, training modules, manuals, and electronic resources); and supporting regional initiatives with some overnight travel. Requirements include a master's degree with PA instructional certification in a relevant area and/or BCBA, expertise in special education and related fields, and ability to work with educational personnel; travel is required. This role is housed at PaTTAN - East in Norristown, PA and supports a 10-month schedule with potential supplemental days.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Pennsylvania Instructional Certification in at least one of: special education, school psychology, and speech-language pathology
- Board Certification in Behavioral Analysis (BCBA)
- Experience in special education, inclusive practices, teaching students with complex instructional needs, autism, and positive behavioral support
- Experience providing technical assistance, professional development, and coaching
- Ability to work effectively with professional personnel in educational agencies
- Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI
- Some overnight travel is required
