Job Summary
Assist a certified teacher in planning and implementing instructional programs for students aged 18–21 through 1:1 and small group instruction within the Transition Center, community, or on job sites. Evaluate student job needs, abilities, and interests while teaching work site and job skills. Serve as a travel trainer to help students learn public transportation skills and provide direct supervision at work locations. Participate in team and IEP meetings to discuss student suitability, work experiences, and progress. Prepare reports, maintain files, and coordinate with teachers to analyze performance data and develop strategies. Observe students at job and bus sites to gather data and support ongoing assistance. Work 7 hours daily from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm for 193 days per year, starting August 27, 2026.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's (or higher) degree; completed at least two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education; or met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal state or local academic assessment (a) knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics; or (b) knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading readiness, writing and readiness, and mathematics readiness as appropriate
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance (applicant agrees to assume cost upon offer of employment)
- Valid driver's license, own transportation, and driving record acceptable to agency carrier
- Ability to speak a second language preferred
