Job Summary
Educational Assistant (EA IV) for the Significant Support Needs program supports students with significant cognitive and medical needs under the guidance of a licensed special education teacher. Responsibilities include implementing IEP goals across academics, functional and life skills, and ensuring student safety and independence in a structured environment. Provide personal care and assist with medical needs (including G-tube feeding if trained), support communication through sign language, PECS, and AAC, assist with mobility and transfers, reinforce health plans and behavior protocols, monitor for safety, and collaborate with the Special Education Team to promote student dignity and independence.
Required Qualifications
- High School or Equivalent (Required)
- Experience working with children or young adults with significant cognitive disabilities, or complex medical needs is preferred.
