Job Summary

Assist teachers in classroom instruction, assessment, and curriculum implementation while supervising students with special needs in one-on-one or small group settings. Escort students to and from recess, playgrounds, and bus locations, and ride the bus with students as required. Provide instructional support and tutoring, document student behavior for progress reports, and maintain classroom displays. Communicate with parents and community members regarding student progress. Monitor student safety during hallway supervision and recess, intervening when necessary to ensure safety. Maintain confidentiality in all communications and adhere to district policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Associate degree
  • Successfully passing the Para-Pro exam
  • First Aid/CPR certification
  • Successful recent work experience in a field related to the position
  • Valid New Mexico State Driver's License
  • Educational Assistant License issued by the NM Public Education Department
  • Ability to lift and/or move 25 to 50 pounds
