Job Summary
Support classroom staff by maintaining a safe, nurturing environment for young children during daily routines, field trips, and outdoor activities. Develop age-appropriate learning and socialization opportunities while keeping daily records of each child's care. Provide direct supervision and facilitate hands-on activities that promote self-help skills and independence. Communicate professionally with parents during drop-off and pick-up, and interact respectfully with the team. Establish effective relationships with children, families, and co-workers while safely supporting physical needs.
Required Qualifications
- At least 19 years of age
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Able to read and interpret safety rules, program manuals and other documents related to childcare
- Able to write daily reports and support lesson plans
- Able to safely support children's physical needs, including getting up and down from the floor, pursuing active children, holding infants and maintaining safety during daily routines
- Able to interact with clients and staff with sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics in the service population
- NO NIGHTS AND NO WEEKENDS
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working with young children in childcare, preschool or early childhood education setting
- Experience communicating with parents or caregivers in a professional setting
