Job Summary
Assist faculty and staff with Fine Arts productions, programs, events, shows, and presentations by constructing environments, preparing for class activities, and navigating theatre settings including irregular surfaces, platforms, and inclines. Operate rotational and impact hand and power tools under direct supervision, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and read manuals, warning placards, and sign-off sheets. Provide a professional, helpful, and welcoming atmosphere to students, faculty, staff, and visitors while strictly honoring privacy and security of student records according to state, federal, and college regulations. Comply with all published College Rules, procedures, and laws governing public employees, including document retention, FERPA, and confidentiality. Maintain a courteous, informed, and accessible engagement style to deliver service excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled Santa Fe College student
- Good academic standing
- Taking six (6) or more credit hours
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
- Knowledgeable of industry basics of theatre and performance spaces
- Ability to navigate theatre settings including irregular surfaces, platforms, and/or inclines
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to operate rotational and impact hand and power tools under direct supervision
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to work for extended periods of time with arms overhead
- Ability to read and understand manuals, warning placards, and sign-off sheets
- Ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural environment
- Adaptability to Change – able to be flexible and supportive, able to positively and proactively assimilate change in rapid growth environment
- Communication – able to effectively communicate in a professional, diplomatic, empathetic, and tactful manner using preferred method and level as applicable to the job
