Job Summary
Educational Assistant responsible for student safety and supervision under direction of the Building Principal; assists with classwork, prepares and duplicates classroom materials, maintains records, communicates with parents and administrators, supports life-skills development, and assists with field trips and supervision during recess and lunch. Requires Ohio Aide Permit with ESEA Endorsement or equivalent, and 48 semester hours/72 quarter hours or ParaPro passing score; supports collaboration with teachers and district staff, with CPR certification and ability to assist students including those with special needs.
Required Qualifications
- Completed at least 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours from an accredited institution of higher learning, associate's degree or higher, or passing score on State ParaPro Assessment
- High school diploma or GED
- Aide Permit through the Ohio Department of Education with the ESEA Endorsement
- Attain and maintain appropriate State of Ohio certification/license
- Experience working with students
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively
- CPR certification
- Physical ability to perform duties including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Daily exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue (as per job description)
- Willingness to travel occasionally
- Proficiency with basic office equipment and computer usage
- Maintain confidentiality of student records
