Education Transportation Coordinator (Bus Driver)

Job Summary
Drive regular bus routes, supervise passenger loading and unloading, and maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety. Communicate professionally with students and staff, perform minor first aid, and assist elderly or disabled clients. Conduct pre- and post-trip safety inspections, coordinate maintenance, fuel the bus, and ensure all licenses and certifications remain current. Report incidents, delays, or maintenance needs immediately to the supervisor while observing all road rules. This on-call position requires a flexible schedule for special activities outside normal hours and involves transporting approved passengers across the community. Candidates must demonstrate sound judgment, cultural sensitivity to shíshálh traditions, and the ability to work with little supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 10 education
- Minimum of five (5) years of driving experience
- Knowledge of the community and city
- Respect for, sensitivity towards, as well as knowledge and understanding of shíshálh culture and traditions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of initiative and self-direction
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. when necessary
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- Be honest and trustworthy

- Demonstrate sound work ethics
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
- CPR and First Aid Certificate
