Job Summary

Education Team Leader (Special Education) at Amherst Regional High School District — lead chairing IEP Team meetings, develop/write/review IEPs, complete mandatory documentation from Team meetings, and collaborate with special education liaisons, guidance counselors, families, and staff to develop evaluations and projections for students. Manage transition planning, maintain relationships with high school departments, and participate in district-wide ETL meetings and trainings. Requires Massachusetts special education certification, strong leadership/communication, and experience with the IEP process and regulations. This is a full-time, long-term substitute level role at the high school.

Required Qualifications

  • Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Special Education certification
  • Experience developing Individualized Educational Plans
  • Experience with culturally diverse populations
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Prior experience working with secondary students is desirable
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with and implementing the special education evaluation process, parents’ rights, and current special education law and regulations

Additional Requirements

  • Citizenship, residency, or work VISA in the United States required
