Job Summary
Provide onsite supervision and act as a resource to evening Adult Education and ESL instructors from Monday through Thursday, 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality instruction aligned with adult education standards while coordinating substitute coverage or serving as a substitute instructor when needed. Conduct classroom observations, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate professional development sessions to support instructor growth. Monitor student attendance, review instructor documentation, prepare administrative reports, and assist instructors in resolving student concerns. Participate in Leader on Duty rotation for emergency response. Maintain a supportive learning environment for diverse adult learners within Dorcas International's wraparound services program.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education, TESOL, adult education, or related field
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel to program sites when needed
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across program areas
- Flexibility, resilience, and adaptability when managing changing program needs
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff from diverse backgrounds
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced program environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital learning platforms used in adult education programs
Desired Qualifications
- 2-3 years of supervisory or instructional leadership experience in Adult Education or ESL programs preferred
- Strong knowledge of Adult Education instructional practices
- Experience working with immigrant, refugee, or multilingual adult learners strongly preferred
- Ability to provide instructional for adult learners in blended, online, and classroom-based modalities
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and support instructors
- Commitment to student-centered instruction and culturally responsive teaching practices
