Job Summary
Promote a youth development philosophy and supervise Education/Youth Development Specialists and BSW/MSW interns to ensure productive self-sufficient lives for youth ages 4-26. Monitor and track educational progress, conduct assessments, and facilitate workshops while overseeing monthly tutoring billing and college tours. Accompany youth to recreational activities in the NY metropolitan area and participate in Interdisciplinary Case Conferences and Family Team Conferences to assure case progress. Assist in evaluating and implementing new educational advocacy procedures to improve outcomes. Travel to the Forest Hills campus 1-2x per week with a homebase at the Brooklyn site, maintaining a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Master of Social Work or equivalent human services graduate degree
- Travel to Forest Hills campus 1-2x per week; Brooklyn site to be the homebase
- Proficiency in Excel and data management
- At least 3 years of documented supervisory and relevant experience
- An understanding and respect for community needs and cultures
- A belief that change is possible
- Able to maintain healthy boundaries
- Able to remain calm during moments of tension and stress
- Exemplary organizational skills
- Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to travel in and around the metropolitan New York City region
- Successfully meet the required background checks
Desired Qualifications
- Education experience and knowledge (i.e. IEPs, CPSE, facilitating school transfers, etc.) a plus
- Ability to speak and read another language a plus
