Job Summary
Education Supervisor oversees day-to-day operations of Head Start centers, supervises staff, ensures compliance with Head Start and Michigan licensing standards, serves as program administrator for the center's child care license, and collaborates with families and community partners. Responsibilities include guiding up to 6 classrooms (Education Supervisor I) or more than 6 (Education Supervisor II), staff onboarding and evaluations, curriculum implementation, safety and regulatory compliance, and coordination with HR, PD, transportation, health/nutrition teams, and family engagement efforts. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's in ECE/Child Development or related field, knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice, and supervisory experience in early childhood, plus specific training in Creative Curriculum and Pyramid Model within set timelines. Frequent travel between sites may be required and the role emphasizes leadership, communication, and program quality improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field
- Knowledge and experience in developmentally appropriate practice, interactions and early childhood environments
- Must have or complete a minimum of two (2) semester hours or 3 CEUs in childcare administration within six (6) months of hire in accordance with the Michigan Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers
- Must have or complete within one (1) year of hire; Intro to Creative Curriculum; Pyramid Model Training
- Two to five years of related and progressively more responsible experience in classroom teaching. Supervisory experience in the area of Early Childhood is preferred
- Must have strong supervisory, leadership and communication skills; experience in conflict resolution
