Education Specialist, NICU

Job Summary
Evaluate clinical practice trends and develop education to impact patient outcomes within defined clinical areas at the Prosper campus. Collaborate with Quality and Risk, department leadership teams, and shared governance councils to create competency validation opportunities that promote excellent patient care. Contribute to project and program management teams focused on quality improvement, risk reduction, patient safety, and evidence-based practice implementation. Hold staff accountable while fostering relationships and promoting nursing professional development. Requires a Masters prepared RN with at least three years of pediatric clinical experience, including NICU Level III exposure, and enrollment in a graduate program with half the requirements complete.
Required Qualifications
- Masters prepared RN or nurse who has completed 1/2 of the requirements towards obtainment of a Master's degree
- Minimum of three (3) years pediatric clinical experience
- NICU Level III Experience
- BSN required
- Enrolled in Graduate Program for Degree in Nursing, Education, or related field with at least 1/2 of program requirements complete and must graduate within two (2) years of position start date
- BLS required
- PALS required
- Texas RN license
Desired Qualifications
- completed 1/2 of the requirements towards obtainment of a Master's degree
- 2 years prior teaching experience
- curriculum development experience
- Microsoft Office Suite (basic computer skills)
- RN planner for continuing education credit
- PALS (Instructor status)
