Job Summary
The Middle School Educational Specialist will provide educational advocacy and support for students in grades 5 through 8 to enhance their academic performance and assist in school transitions. This role involves working with students, families, and case planners to ensure access to necessary educational resources. Responsibilities include aiding in high school selection, coordinating tutoring services, monitoring academic milestones, connecting students to extracurricular activities, and providing special education advocacy. Candidates should have strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and expertise in client advocacy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Minimum one year experience working with the educational school system

- Knowledge of NYC DOE policies
- Ability to work collaboratively across many systems and stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially for client advocacy
