Job Summary
Education Specialist provides training, modeling, and curriculum support to ensure Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms meet the highest quality. Responsibilities include visiting HS/EHS classrooms for coaching and modeling, establishing mentoring relationships with teachers, modeling best practices aligned to Head Start standards, observing Infant/Toddler/Preschool CLASS dimensions, implementing the coaching model with fidelity, supporting curriculum implementation, developing engaging literacy-rich environments, analyzing child assessment data to inform lesson plans, guiding teachers to set goals based on data, and assisting in ongoing program trainings and evaluations. Requires strong knowledge of early childhood education practices, ability to motivate staff, effective communication, and the ability to lead trainings and collaborate with Center Managers and Teaching Staff.
Required Qualifications
- A baccalaureate in Early Childhood Education with advanced degree preferred
- A baccalaureate or advanced degree in education that includes ages K through 6, with 15 credit hours in early childhood education courses
- A baccalaureate or advanced degree in any field with 45 credit hours in early childhood education courses
- Head Start experience preferred
- Creative Curriculum, Teaching Strategies Gold, and CLASS experience preferred
- CLASS and TS Gold certification in Infant, Toddler & Preschool within 60 days of employment
- Coaching certification within 6 months of employment
- Complete a minimum of 15 hours of in-service training annually, July 1- June 30
