Job Summary

Manage special projects for PreK-12 education programs and educator professional development, including leading STEM curriculum development for workshops, family programs, conferences, and camps. Deliver educational content through hands-on activities, professional development, and programming on and off museum grounds while engaging students, educators, and caregivers. Foster relationships with external partners to ensure grant and sponsor deliverables are completed, create staff trainings, and conduct program evaluations aligned with Florida State Standards. Maintain quality control for curricula, operate OSC vehicles for offsite deliveries, and ensure all programs are developmentally appropriate. Work onsite 60% of the time with weekend availability as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in education, science, communication, or theater
  • Minimum of 2-3 years' experience working with students and teachers
  • Degree may be substituted for 5 years relevant work experience in the field of informal learning or education
  • Prior teaching experience with PreK-12 students, educators, and caregivers
  • Knowledge of state standards
  • Experience developing and leading informal education programs featuring best practice
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective rapport with others
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Presentation and public speaking
  • Reliable, organized, self-starter
  • Ability to work with little direct supervision
  • Enthusiastic, friendly, outgoing
  • Must love working with people
  • Must possess a valid Florida driver's license or obtain one within 30 days of beginning employment
  • Must maintain an acceptable driving record as stipulated by OSC's insurance carrier
  • Must be comfortable driving an OSC vehicle
  • Must be able to work weekends and after hour events as needed
  • Travel throughout the Central Florida area may be required to attend conferences/trainings/deliver programs
  • This position is required to be onsite 60% of the time

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience with age-appropriate STEM technologies and tools (i.e. robotics, coding, etc.)
  • Knowledge of informal education and museum practices
  • Experience working with preschool aged children in formal or informal settings
  • Experience facilitating educator professional development
  • Experience creating educator professional development
