Job Summary

Provide business support to Education Safeguarding Officers by creating and maintaining child employment permits and performance licenses, including upkeep of the EMS database and secure document storage. Manage the Chaperone Application process by distributing guidelines, tracking reference requests, and verifying applicant processes before license issuance. Collate information from EMS regarding children referred to DV MARAC and assist in contacting schools. Maintain the Access database of trained staff and support minute-taking at meetings as required. Update and monitor Child Protection/Safeguarding databases while adhering to Corporate Safeguarding Policy and reporting concerns regarding child or adult safety. Work from various locations as needed to meet service demands.

Required Qualifications

  • IT skills including main IT packages and databases
  • Evidence of communicating and team working
  • Evidence of customer focused skills
  • Minute taking/report writing skills
  • Worked within Council or government organisation
  • Experience of operating a variety of computer packages, including Word and Excel
  • Experience of supporting meetings
  • Accurate word processing/typing speed of 35 wpm
  • Ability to demonstrate accurate data processing skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with the wide variety of people who engage with the Safeguarding and Reviewing Service
  • Numeracy skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to prioritise workload and able to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Understanding of the issues around dealing with confidential information
