Job Summary
Coordinate with District staff, contractors, architects, engineers, and inspectors to manage project operations and communications. Perform field checks on construction, demolition, and rehabilitation projects to ensure compliance with specifications and Division of the State Architect requirements. Interpret construction plans, review submittals, and facilitate resolutions of design and construction issues. Manage contractors and outside consultants, including approving invoices and enforcing contracts. Prepare weekly and monthly status reports, distribute meeting minutes, and maintain project files in electronic and paper formats. Assist the Construction Manager with quality control, cost estimates, bid solicitation, and project closeout activities. 100 percent onsite. 6 months to 3 years of professional experience required. BS/BA degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Required Qualifications
- 6mos-3 years minimum recent professional experience in a similar or equivalent position involved in project or construction
- BS/BA Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related degree
- Additional qualifying experience in excess to the minimum stated above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to take initiative and make sound decisions
- Knowledge of construction management procedures
- Knowledge of contract documents
- Knowledge of industry practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong competency in construction management software ie. Procore
- 100 percent onsite
