Job Summary
Education & Outdoor Equity Manager (Elementary) leads the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of TreePeople's elementary education programs (including Eco-Tours and school greening offerings), oversees grant deliverables, program evaluation, and staff supervision; builds partnerships with schools, districts, community organizations, and funders to ensure equitable, high-quality educational experiences across Los Angeles County; manages annual work plans, budgets, data collection, reporting for funders, and compliance with policies and grant requirements; requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent), 3–5 years in environmental education or related programs, experience supervising staff, knowledge of NGSS and place-based/experiential learning, commitment to equity, and willingness to travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Education, Education, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Public Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing environmental education, youth development, outdoor education, or related programs.
- Demonstrated experience supervising staff, managing projects, and coordinating multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of environmental education best practices, NGSS, place-based education, experiential learning, and social-emotional learning.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive educational practices.
- Understanding of environmental issues affecting diverse communities in Southern California, including urban forestry, climate resilience, water resources, and green infrastructure solutions.
- Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and public speaking skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Salesforce, Asana, and other cloud-based systems.
- Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel throughout Los Angeles County.
