Job Summary
Education Manager coordinates the administration of overnight environmental science programming at Olympic National Park, supervises and coaches Environmental Science Educators, supports educator training and professional development, and manages program operations and risk management. The role requires coordinating with facilities for housing, ensuring safety and logistics, and collaborating with park partners and education teams. Based in Port Angeles, WA, this exempt, full-time position requires a Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field (or equivalent), valid Wilderness First Responder and CPR, a valid driver's license, and at least three years of outdoor education programming experience; knowledge of NGSS and inclusion-focused practices is expected; salary $45,000-$48,000 with benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Wilderness First Responder and CPR or ability to obtain prior to starting the position
- Valid Driver’s License
- Experience supervising and/or coaching educators, and developing professional development for educators
- Strong pedagogical foundations in experiential learning, thematic teaching, and curriculum development
- Knowledge of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and trends in community science
- Commitment to workplace equity & inclusion
- At least three years of programming experience in outdoor/environmental/science education
