Job Summary
Develop and maintain lesson plans based on assessments and student goals to meet diverse student needs. Conduct progress tests after initial instruction, strive to meet Target Performance Measures, and facilitate contextualized classroom instruction for AEL participants in IET classes. Responsible for submitting all required documentation and reports, managing classroom behavior, maintaining records, attending staff meetings and related events, and traveling to different class sites as needed. Requires delivering high-quality instruction across core high school subjects (Reading & Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Mathematics), with strong emphasis on adult learning methodologies and collaboration with students and colleagues. Must hold a Bachelor’s degree and a valid Texas teaching certificate; ESL certification and second-language skills are strongly preferred. This role entails office-based and field activity within Goodwill North Central Texas and supporting program guidelines and reporting requirements.”,
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level (strongly preferred)
- ESL certification (strongly preferred)
- Working knowledge of a second language (strongly preferred)
- Trained in adult learning methodology
- minimum of two years’ experience working with adults
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with students, staff, and community
