Job Summary
Educational Interpreter (JC567) facilitates communication between deaf/hard of hearing students and others, interprets/transliterates classroom instruction to match the student’s language level, provides equal access to academic and nonacademic activities, maintains daily notebooks to report progress, and participates in meetings (IEPs, parent/teacher) to convey information and support planning. Requires high school graduation or GED; RID certification preferred; valid driver’s license. Reports to the Director-Special Services; duties include supporting staff, assisting with classroom logistics, and ensuring a safe, inclusive learning environment for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. two positions available; pay steps range from $21.86 to $24.59 per hour depending on experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduation or GED
- Certification by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf preferred
- Valid Driver's License and evidence of insurability
