Job Summary
Lead inquiry-based school tours through the Museum's collections and exhibitions while facilitating art projects and tours using inquiry-based techniques. Integrate the National Core Arts Standards and Nevada Academic Content Standards for each grade-banded tour and art lab, ensuring alignment with grade-specific content and interdisciplinary arts integration topics. Facilitate monthly art projects with families during Hands On! Second Saturday by greeting guests, guiding groups through each step, and assisting with setup, prep, and cleaning of classroom spaces. Develop communications skills with the Museum Educator team, students, and teachers from diverse backgrounds while gaining classroom and group management skills under the Nell J. Redfield School Services Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Must be a self-starter
- capable of working in a fast-paced environment
- able to anticipate, recognize, and solve problems
- Must be available at least 9 hours a week
Desired Qualifications
- All majors accepted
- Juniors – Seniors preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish
