Job Summary
Supervise and assist youth with homework, computers, or after-school program activities while ensuring proper use of supplies and equipment. Communicate effectively in verbal and written situations, follow all district rules and safety procedures, and participate in signature events, professional development, and team-building sessions as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned while adhering to a flexible schedule that includes weekends, evenings, and holidays. This grant-funded internship supports the Peoria Park District's youth engagement initiatives and offers part-time hours for high school or college students.
Required Qualifications
- Current high school or college undergraduate student (Sept 2026 - Dec 2026)
- Must be 16 years old
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability and willingness to perform assigned job duties
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends, evenings and holidays, as assigned
- Ability to learn and implement group management skills and activities to a diverse population
- Ability to physically participate in activities with youth
- Ability to follow internship dress code of business casual attire
- Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, safe, and equitable to both internal and external customers
