Job Summary
Inpatient Education Coordinator for Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) – designs, implements, and evaluates unit-based education programs and orientation pathways to enhance staff knowledge, skills, and relationships. Leads training to close performance gaps, develops unit-specific training for multiple shifts, collects feedback from leadership and staff, and coordinates clinical education activities including patient-care planning, documentation, conferences/rounds, and clinical preceptor support. Responsibilities include assessing patient/family needs, developing individualized care plans, coordinating student/faculty orientation, participating in Quality Outcomes/clinical improvement initiatives, providing administrative support for unit operations (scheduling, on-call coverage), and ensuring compliance with occupational health standards (respiratory fit testing). The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, RN licensure in Texas or through the Nursing Licensure Compact, BLS certification, and 2 years of clinical nursing experience with 1 year of preceptor/educator experience; CC nursing experience is highly preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Required bachelor's degree Nursing
- RN - Lic-Registered Nurses by the Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact
- BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association
- 2 years Clinical nursing experience and 1 year Preceptor or educator experience preferred
- Critical Care nursing experience highly preferred
