Job Summary
Assess learning needs and plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and evaluate educational activities for staff and the community. Develop and administer evidence-based clinical staff development programs to improve patient care by increasing personnel competence. Administer and track in-house online courses for all staff members while assisting in policy coordination and management of hospital policies. Provide clinical support and serve as a resource for directors, nurse managers, clinical leaders, and staff to maintain competencies and improve skills. Gather, analyze, and assess data from various sources to support these initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
- BSN
- Five years clinical experience specific to clinical areas assigned
- Experience in nurse-peer training
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Louisiana
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Proficient computer skills
- Must be self-directed and self-motivated
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to exercise independent judgment in the completion of assignments and duties
- Readily adapts to change and welcomes new approaches when circumstances demand it
- Certification in BLS Provider
- BLS instructor status within 12 months of hire date
- ACLS instructor status required within 18 months of hire date
- PALS and/or NRP provider status within 2 years
- Instructor of PALS and/or NRP within 3 years of employment as directed by CNO
- Agrees to be flexible with hours to meet timely educational needs
- Minimal travel required

Desired Qualifications
- BSN preferred
- Certification in ACLS, PALS, NRP preferred
