Job Summary
Under the direction of the Education Manager, the Education Compliance Specialist will ensure that a plan of daily activities of enrichment and care for children are implemented in all assigned Porter-Leath classrooms according to Head Start Performance Standards. Tasks include developing and coordinating the provision of education services to ensure compliance with the State of Tennessee Child Care Licensing regulations, HS/EHS/Pre-K Performance Standards, Tennessee Department of Education and any other licensing entities, advising the Early Head Start and Education Manager of areas of non-compliance pertinent to the compliance of the program. Essential duties include assisting with development and coordination of education services, maintaining compliance documentation, supporting staff development and mentoring, reviewing assessment data, ensuring classroom safety and developmental appropriateness, coordinating site visits/audits, and representing Porter-Leath in educational collaborations. Required to maintain CLASS observations and certifications and ensure all classroom postings and equipment align with best practices; CPR/First Aid certification required; strong communication and teamwork skills essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field; Master’s preferred
- 5 years minimum experience with children 0-5 years
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- Experience with Head Start/Early Head Start; knowledge of CLASS and related assessments (e.g., ITERS/ECERS)
- Ability to coordinate and monitor education services, ensure compliance with state licensing and national standards
- Strong communication and mentoring skills
- Ability to review assessment data and support families
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to travel to multiple sites as needed
