Job Summary
Education Coach provides consultation, coaching, mentoring, and training to Head Start staff to support school readiness, using a Practice-Based Coaching model and aligning with Head Start standards, Texas Pre-K Guidelines, and NAEYC; travels between Family Service sites for on-site coaching, includes side-by-side coaching, co-teaching, instructional planning, reflective feedback, and uses tools like Curriculum Fidelity Checklist and CLASS to monitor progress and set goals; collaborates with the Education Coordinator to develop policies and service plans, and engages with staff and community to improve program outcomes; requires bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) and three years of teaching experience in early childhood programs; bilingual skills desirable; valid Texas vehicle operator’s license and vaccination documentation may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required
- Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Three years of experience teaching in an early childhood education program required
- Experience training or coaching adults preferred
- Knowledge of Texas Pre-Kindergarten Guidelines, Head Start Child Outcomes, NAEYC guidelines, and Child Care Licensing Standards
- Fluent in English and Spanish (read, write, speak) desirable
- Access to transportation for travel between sites and the ability to occasionally travel for training and conferences
- CLASS reliable observer certification in Infant, Toddler, and Pre-K within six months of hire
