Job Summary
Education Center Operator Assistant supports day-to-day operations of Head Start centers under the Education Center Operator, delivering Head Start curriculum and instructional practices aligned with Head Start Performance Standards and related policies. Responsible for supervising Head Start staff and volunteers, engaging parents and the community through the Parent, Family and Community Engagement Program, and maintaining assigned budgets while applying trauma-informed care and a focus on the Social Determinants of Health. The role requires collaboration with staff and partner agencies to achieve school readiness and a high-quality learning environment for children and families. Qualifications include an Associate’s (or higher) degree in Early Childhood Development or related field, CPR/First Aid, two years’ teaching experience with birth-to-five populations, bilingual English/Spanish desirable, and state licensure/vehicle operator requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Development; or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development or other related human service field with 18 hours of Early Childhood Development desirable.
- Current CPR and First Aid.
- Two (2) years previous experience teaching children ages birth to five.
- Fluency in English and Spanish (read, write, and speak) desirable.
- Certificate or license, as applicable, by the appropriate State agency as a qualified practitioner.
- State of Texas vehicle operator’s license and proof of liability insurance.
