Job Summary
Education & Behavioral Specialist at The Learning Experience – Vista leads in-house child development and classroom behavior support. The role performs classroom observations across infants to preschoolers, designs and implements individualized behavior support strategies, provides in-class support for emotional regulation, coaches teachers in effective management and positive guidance, and partners with families to ensure consistency between school and home. It also supports inclusion, documents observations and interventions, and ensures compliance with California licensing standards. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 3 years of experience with children aged 0–6, with preferred certifications in California Child Development Permit, Pediatric CPR/First Aid, Mandated Reporter Training, and ABA/trauma-informed care. The position is based at the Vista center and is full-time with competitive salary and benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Special Education, Behavioral Science, or related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in early childhood education, behavioral intervention, special education, or related field
- Experience working with children ages 0–6 in group care or educational settings
- Strong understanding of social-emotional development, trauma-informed care, positive behavior support, and developmentally appropriate practice
- Experience coaching adults and collaborating with families preferred
- Knowledge of California childcare licensing standards preferred
- California Child Development Permit (preferred)
- Pediatric CPR/First Aid (preferred)
- Mandated Reporter Training (preferred)
- ABA/Positive Behavior Support/trauma-informed care training (preferred)
