EDP Cloud Engineer

Job Summary
Provision, configure, and maintain AWS infrastructure components for EDP environments, including networking, compute, storage, and identity management. Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and GitLab to automate deployments across development, testing, and production. Support CI/CD pipelines, troubleshoot containerized workloads on Amazon EKS, and monitor platform health via CloudWatch logs, metrics, and alarms. Assist with secure cloud configurations, connectivity patterns, and capacity planning while maintaining technical documentation and audit logging. Participate in incident troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and the onboarding of new applications and teams. This role is onsite in Washington, DC, and requires US citizenship or Green Card status.
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of core AWS services and concepts, including VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, EKS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and AWS Systems Manager Parameter Store
- Foundational knowledge of AWS networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, and connectivity between cloud resources
- Familiarity with AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), including roles, policies, permissions, and least-privilege access principles
- Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and experience with or familiarity with AWS CloudFormation
- Experience with source/version control systems such as GitLab, GitHub, or Bitbucket, with GitLab preferred
- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools, including automated build, testing, deployment, and environment promotion processes
- Familiarity with cloud monitoring and logging concepts using services such as CloudWatch and CloudTrail
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, analyze logs and system behavior, and collaborate with other engineering teams to resolve problems
- Ability to learn and apply new cloud technologies, tools, and engineering practices under the guidance of senior engineers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document technical configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
- Candidates must be US Citizens or Green Card Holders
Desired Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of containerization and container orchestration concepts; familiarity with Amazon EKS/Kubernetes is preferred
- Basic knowledge of cloud security practices, including secrets/configuration management, secure access, logging, and encryption
- Hands-on experience provisioning AWS infrastructure using CloudFormation or another Infrastructure as Code technology
- Experience developing or maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitLab CI/CD
- Familiarity with Terraform or other infrastructure automation frameworks
- Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts and Amazon EKS administration
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional
