Job Summary
As an EDM Operator, you will set up, troubleshoot, and operate wire EDMs while adhering to strict tolerances. You will work with customer specifications to ensure accurate machine programming, examine and measure completed units for defects, and make necessary adjustments to machine controls. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use precision measuring equipment. Experience with programming and operating tools, along with expertise in reading blueprints, is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Strong problem-solving ability for the inspection and repair of machinery
- Ability to examine and measure completed units, identifying defects and ensuring adherence to specifications
- Ability to adjust machine controls to resolve production errors
- Ability to work closely with customer manufacturing specifications to ensure accurate machine programming
- Ability to set up, troubleshoot, and operate wire EDMs according to strict tolerances
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines
- Ability to proficiently set up and use measuring equipment including CMM, CAD-CAM, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Calipers, Profilometers
- Expert in reading and interpreting blueprints and design sketches
- Ability to create and maintain updated work processes related to machining
- Familiar with warehouse, manufacturing, or production planning environments
