Job Summary
Practice proofreading BJU Press products and edit various stages of project work. Read and discuss assigned books focusing on the editorial process while studying The Chicago Manual of Style, BJU Press house style, and publishing standards to improve editorial knowledge. This role requires acceptable performance on the BJU Press Editorial test, a working knowledge of English grammar, and Microsoft Office proficiency. Applicants must be college seniors graduating December 2026 and hold a born-again Christian faith with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Candidates must affirm the Bob Jones University creed and core biblical doctrines, maintain a conservative lifestyle, and be active members of a local Bible-believing church.
Required Qualifications
- Acceptable performance on the BJU Press Editorial test
- Working knowledge of English grammar and mechanics
- Must be a college senior graduating December 2026
- Microsoft Office
- Adobe Acrobat Reader
- An applicant for a position in the Bob Jones University group — Bob Jones University, Bob Jones Academy or BJU Press — must be a born-again Christian who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Each applicant must agree with and affirm the Bob Jones University creed, mission and core biblical doctrines regarding areas such as the Bible, the triune God, man and salvation, etc.
- Employees are expected to maintain a conservative lifestyle and support the group's positions on issues such as beverage alcohol and addictive substances, creation, marriage and human sexuality and the sanctity of life, etc.
- Employees are to be active members of a local Bible-believing church which holds orthodox theology
- Applicants must be committed to providing students an excellent, world-class education from a biblical worldview that prepares them for a lifetime of service for Jesus Christ
